Florida Traffic Violations
What offenses can get my license taken away?
There are a number of offenses, infractions and criminal offenses dealing with tags and driver’s licenses. Chapter 320 of the Florida Statutes deals with tag requirements and violations. Chapter 322 deals with the requirements for drivers to be licensed in Florida and the violations and penalties for not complying with those requirements.
Suffice it to say that if you are arrested for a traffic offense, you need an attorney right away. Even if you merely receive a citation, look to see if it is a citation that is a non-criminal infraction or if it is a crime. A citation for driving on a suspended license without knowledge can have long term serious consequences for your license. Simply paying the citation is the same as pleading guilty. When in doubt, seek legal counsel.
